Shanks: Well obviously Luffy really looks up to Shanks, and wants to be just like him. Shanks also cares for Luffy and he wants for Luffy to be a really great pirate, even though I don’t think he believed Luffy could do it before. He obviously cares for him very much because he sacrificed his arm for Luffy. I think he first believed Luffy could do it when he gave him his hat. After the first chapter we don’t see Shanks at all until some of the very recent chapters. He has heard about how Luffy is beating more and more pirates and is getting closer. I think he is excited to see Luffy again. Shanks was the closest Luffy had to a parent when he was little. Even though Shanks often picked on him, he is friends with Luffy and wouldn’t let anything happen to him. Luffy got most of his ideals, like never giving up, not taking everything seriously, and protecting his friends from Shanks.

Smoker: He is the marine that is assigned to catch to Luffy. He takes his job very seriously. He also ate a Devil Fruit and uses smoke in his attacks, which Luffy can’t counter. Luffy always ends up running away or having someone save him. Luffy doesn’t really seem to take him too seriously and calls him “Smokey”. Smoker is a smart guy and had figured out that Crocodile was actually bad before anyone had thought about it at the marines. While Smoker will take any chance he can get to take Luffy down, they are also capable of working together, like when they were all trapped together inside of Crocodile’s casino. Sometimes it seems like Smoker doesn’t really want to catch Luffy.

Nefertari Vivi: Luffy really cares about Vivi and is very glad she is part of his crew for a while. She cares very deeply about everyone in the crew and doesn’t want to risk their lives. Luffy gets in a fight with her at one point because she is risking her life but won’t let any of her friends risk their lives for her country. One of the hardest things she had to do was tell Luffy and crew that she couldn’t come with them because she had to take care of her country because she is the princess. In a very touching scene the crew tells Vivi that she can come and go on adventures with them again anytime she wants. The whole crew was bawling later because they would all miss Vivi so much.

These are the only other people I can think of to add in here at the moment. If I think of any more I will add them.
